2014, a year to remember

As 2014 draws to a close we are busy cleaning and sharpening tools, washing waterproofs and restocking the fire lighting kits with fresh fairy duvets! It is also a chance to reflect on another great year of adventures.

We have welcomed back many children to our sessions as well as many new faces. Some of our sessions were new and some back by popular demand! As usual the year began with hot chocolate, hats and gloves before moving to juice and t-shirts and then back to hot chocolate, hats and gloves! Along the way there were lots of smiles, new experiences and fun.

After many years using Edublogs to keep everyone up to date with our adventures, 2014 saw the launch of our website and social media channels. Please take a moment to visit and like our Facebook page and/or subscribe to our Youtube channel.

We continue to be committed to issues of sustainability. We believe that a woodland offers children and adults an unique learning experience and yet in this country we have the lowest percentage of woodland in Europe – only around 4%. The Woodland Trust are committed to planting new woods all around the country and, as part of The Woodland Trusts “Grow a tree houseā€Ÿ campaign, Woodland Sprites purchased twelve trees this year to be planted in a local woodland so in the future as many children as possible will have the opportunity to run and play in a woodland setting.

We wish all our young adventurers and their families a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and we look forward to seeing you all in 2015. In the meantime check out our photo complication below – 2014, a year to remember.
