The first Woodland Sprites session for 2012 and the weather was bright but cold. An enthusiastic group of children started the session playing team games, recognising birds and working out anagrams.
Then we made bird feeders. Popcorn, cranberries, raisins and monkey nuts were carefully threaded onto pieces of thread and then tied using a clove onto a large stick. Many of us also covered a pine cone in peanut nut butter before rolling it in bird seed to add an extra tasty treat to our bird feeder. The session finished with hot chocolate and biscuits.
