This Woodland Sprites session was inspired by an activity we had seen on the excellent Nature Detectives website run by The Woodland Trust. We have wanted to introduce felt making to the girls for awhile now and this was the perfect introduction.
Before long the girls were choosing brightly coloured felting wool and rolling it into balls to make woolly acorns. They experimented and made multicoloured, large and small acorns. Each woolly acorn was stuck into an acorn cup which we had collected a few weeks ago in Moorlands Nature Reserve. Everyone was very pleased with the results and we are now planning another session on felt making next year.
